| Day 3 | London | London Sightseeing and at leisure : Many major sights are included on our morning sightseeing tour such as Big Ben, the Houses of Parliament, Westminster Abbey and Buckingham Palace. Your tour will finish in central London, so the rest of the day is at leisure to discover more of the city for yourself. (Buffet Breakfast) |
| Day 4 | Paris | London - Paris (2 nights) : Greetings from our Tour Director as we head to Dover for our sea crossing to Calais in France. We drive across the Somme battlefields to Paris, Europe's most romantic city. Later, we enjoy a Welcome Drink together - the ideal way to get to know your Tour Director and fellow travelers. | Day 5 | Paris | Paris Sightseeing and at leisure : Guided sightseeing today shows us the Champs Elysees, Arc de Triomphe, the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier, the Opera House and Notre Dame Cathedral. We also take the elevator to the second level of the Eiffel Tower for spectacular views over the entire city! Later you may wish to visit the Louvre Museum and check out the inverted glass pyramid made famous by the Da Vinci Code. Tonight, don't miss the opportunity to take in a Parisian cabaret! (Buffet Breakfast) |
| Day 6 | Lucerne | Paris - Lucerne : An early start today as we drive through the Auxerrois and Burgundy vineyards, passing the Castle of Chateauneuf. Past the remains of the Maginot Line at Belfort we reach the Swiss border at Basel and continue to lakeside Lucerne, where an orientation tour shows us the wooden covered Chapel Bridge and the poignant Lion Monument. This evening after dinner at our hotel, perhaps enjoy a drink in one of the cozy bars along the banks of the River Reuss. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner) Hotel: Schiller |
| Day 7 | Venice | Lucerne - Venice : The St. Gotthard highway takes us past Alpine peaks and on to the Italian border at Chiasso. We glimpse Lake Como and skirt around Milan before continuing to the magical city of Venice. (Buffet Breakfast / Dinner) Hotel: Antony |
| Day 8 | Florence | Venice - Florence : This morning our canal cruise takes us to St. Marks Square where we see the Bridge of Sighs and the Doge's Palace. We witness a glassblowing demonstration and have time to explore before driving across the Apennines to the Renaissance city of Florence, where we enjoy our Highlight Dinner tonight. | Day 9 | Rome | Florence - Rome (2 nights) : Today's guided sightseeing tour on foot shows us the Cathedral, the Baptistery, Signoria Square and includes a visit to the Basilica of Santa Croce where we see the tomb of Michelangelo. Then time to stop for leather and gold and our Tour Director shows us a Hidden Treasure before we travel on to Rome, the Eternal City. (Buffet Breakfast) Hotel: Melia Roma Aurelia Antica (2 nights) |
| Day 10 | Rome | Rome sightseeing and at leisure : Our morning sightseeing with a local expert includes a visit to one of the world's most splendid churches, St Peter's Basilica in the Vatican - allegedly built at the site where the beloved saint met his death. We also see Piazza Venezia and take time to photograph the Victor Emmanuel monument and the 15th century Palazzo Venezia before continuing along the "Sacred Way" to see the Roman Forum and of course the breathtaking Colosseum. Later, we celebrate the end of our tour together with our Tour Director at a Farewell Dinner with wine in a local restaurant! (Buffet Breakfast / Farewell Dinner) |
| Day 11 | Return USA | Rome - USA : Today time to bid farewell to our fellow travelers and Tour Director. There is an airport transfer available, conditions apply. (Buffet Breakfast) |
