Start your vacation in San Francisco with a sightseeing tour and cruise across San Francisco Bay. Spend a day at leisure experiencing the city on your own or take an optional excursion to Carmel and Monterey. Cross the Golden Gate Bridge and visit the Mediterranean-style village of Sausalito, where you have free time to explore the trendy shops and galleries, open-air cafes, and breathtaking views. Next, spend four nights getting to know the celebrated wine regions of Napa and Sonoma. Wineries visited include Roche, Viansa, Sebastiani, Buena Vista (the oldest winery in California still in operation), Mumm, V. Sattui, and Envy. A highlight of this vacation is the relaxing train journey aboard the famous Napa Valley Wine Train, featuring beautiful scenery and spectacular food. | Day 2 | San Francisco | Morning sightseeing in one of the world's most beautiful cities, famous for its natural harbor, lush parks, cable cars, and bustling docks. Your tour includes Golden Gate Park, Twin Peaks, Fisherman's Wharf, and much more. Afterward, sit back and relax as you enjoy a CRUISE across San Francisco Bay. Tonight, you may want to venture back to Fisherman's Wharf for dinner at one of the area's famous restaurants. (B) |

| Day 4 | Napa | This morning, cross the famous Golden Gate Bridge and visit the pristine waterfront community of Sausalito. Free time to explore this quaint Mediterranean-style village's shops, galleries, and breathtaking views. Continue to Sonoma County and visit family-owned ROCHE WINERY in the Carneros region to tour their vineyards and taste their award-winning wines. A short drive brings you to VIANSA WINERY & ITALIAN MARKETPLACE for a picnic-style lunch and time to enjoy their beautiful gardens and market. | Day 5 | Napa & Sonoma County | Enjoy some time this morning at leisure. Take a historical tour of SEBASTIANI VINEYARDS before free time in the town square. Next, visit BUENA VISTA WINERY. Dating back to 1857, it's the oldest California winery still in operation. A special educational FOOD & WINE PAIRING awaits. Learn how different wines pair with various savory and sweet flavors. | Day 6 | Napa Valley | Late this morning, board a luxurious Pullman lounge car and enjoy a relaxing TRAIN JOURNEY through the lush Napa Valley. Relive the days of elegant rail travel while enjoying a sumptuous 3-course lunch on board. This afternoon, learn how famous champagne maker MUMM makes its California sparkling wine in the traditional French method at MUMM NAPA. Sample a glass of their bubbly to toast a great day! (B,L) |
| Day 7 | Napa Valley | Start your day with a visit to V. SATTUI WINERY for a guided tour of the vineyards, production facilities, barrel room, and cellar followed by a tasting. Next, a drive through Napa Valley to the town of Calistoga, famous for its hot-water geysers. Time for lunch on your own in downtown Calistoga and to stroll the streets that retain their charm of yesteryear. Finally this afternoon, stop at ENVY WINES for a guided tour of their barrel-aging cellar and a unique tasting straight from the barrel. This evening your Tour Director hosts a special farewell dinner at Wine Spectator's GREYSTONE RESTAURANT, located at the Culinary Institute of America. Air booked in conjunction with a land vacation is considered an air-inclusive vacation. Air can only be booked by Globus in conjunction with a land package and is only available for passengers traveling from the United States. For vacation departures in 2010, your final air-inclusive vacation price is guaranteed when your air schedule had been confirmed and your entire vacation package has been paid in full. For vacation departures in 2010, an additional $250 non-refundable deposit (total $500 non-refundable) is required for air booked in conjunction with any land vacation and your final air-inclusive vacation price is guaranteed when your flight information is confirmed and Globus has received your full land and air deposit.
